Director

Ben Whimpey is an accomplished Australian filmmaker renowned for his compelling storytelling and innovative approach to film production. With a career spanning over two decades, he has made significant contributions to both independent cinema and commercial projects.

A graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) with a Master's in Screen Business and Producing, Ben is the founder of Indimax Productions, where he leads a team dedicated to producing high-quality content across various genres. His work has garnered recognition at numerous film festivals, including a Tropfest finalist position for The Hustle (2013) and awards for the sci-fi feature Alien Arrival.

Ben's passion for storytelling is matched by his commitment to nurturing creative talent and pushing the boundaries of conventional filmmaking.

Wye Keen is a Melbourne-based cinematographer with a distinct visual style honed over two decades behind the lens. Beginning his journey with travel documentaries that took him from Alaska to the South Pacific, he has developed a keen eye for naturalism that he now applies to high-end commercials and narrative films.

Known for his ability to craft rich visual worlds, Wye Keen brings versatile technical expertise and a sharp sense of visual rhythm to Unhinged. He is perfectly suited to capturing the chaotic and often absurd reality of modern online dating, balancing cinematic quality with the fast-paced energy needed to bring the comedy—and the cringe—to life.

Sarah Coltraine

Writer/Lead

Sarah Coltraine is a Melbourne-born actor and writer who grew up on Australian film and TV sets, spending her childhood around productions such as Blue Heelers, Neighbours, and City Homicide, alongside her dad, a stuntman and safety supervisor. A natural storyteller from a young age, Sarah describes herself as "two right halves of a brain in one," blending imagination with intuition. Over the past 12 years, she has trained extensively in acting, bringing a grounded, character-driven approach to her work.

Drawn to funny, messy, darkly comic stories with unapologetic women at the centre, Sarah began writing six years ago, inspired by Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag. She wrote and stars in her short film UNHINGED, born from a desire to see more female-led comedies that embrace flawed, anti-hero women, set against the modern culture of dating apps. Her work reflects a bold, honest voice rooted in humour, vulnerability, and emotional truth.
